Aruba, Jamaica Ooh I Want To Take Her to Bermuda...

Saturday, August 06, 2011

It was up to me to make the final decision for our 20th anniversary vacation destination this coming October. Vegas or Aruba.... Aruba wins!
My idea of a vacation is:
relaxing poolside
sweet tropical drink in hand
soaking up the sun
listening to the steel drums
Yesterday after work the weather was gorgeous! It was a little like Aruba, strong sun but a little breeze.
I took my daughter to my moms to go swimming with my niece.
While they swam I sat in a lounge chair with my iPad and played Carribean steel drum music. In my mind I was transported to Aruba. It felt great! So relaxing!
Then the girls came and sat with me and we three were transported to Aruba.
Ahhhh! I can't wait to really get there!
When I first started SP in April I would have never thought I would be going on vacation. I wouldn't even entertain the idea and it was making my husband upset. He kept asking me where I wanted to go and for months prior I basically ignored him.
Then in June after losing 21 lbs and feeling better, I said "I was thinking about where to go for our anniversary". He lit up. I then explained to him that I would never have been able to walk through the airport let alone walk around anywhere on vacation.
SP has given me so much in these last few months. It has given me my life back!
Because I couldn't walk in the last few years I had not:
Gone to a NY Mets game (which I love)
Gone to a mall
Gone to a dept. store
Gone on a amusement park ride
Gone to my daughters school
Gone on vacation
Everything I did my first thought was always, what's the parking like? Is there any walking involved? Is there an elevator?
By the end of this summer I will have all of these things done!
Thank you Michelle for introducing SP to me. Thank you my fabulous SP friends who continue to inspire and support me every day!
Thank you SP for giving me the knowledge I need to succeed!

Woo hoo! I used to have those same thoughts -- where will I park? How much walking will I have to do? Now, I have sort of the same thoughts -- how far away can I park? How much walking can I get in? Nearly the same, but totally different!

    Enjoy Aruba!
