Hubby went to the bank this morning and I wasn't sure if there would be anyone there that could help us with our mortgage. We pay $1000 a month on it and the payment is $700.99. He had it reduced to that per month. The rest went on the principal when we paid $1,000 monthly. He also took out of savings enough to cover our bills. Our son will buy groceries for us on Monday, be the Lord Willing.

When he came home, he had a dozen eggs, so we had eggs, toast and coffee for lunch. My husband made an omelet with cheese and salsa. We had stir fry for supper and there are leftovers for tomorrow, so we have enough.

When we were finished lunch, we began cutting pieces of wood that our neighbor gave to us from his hauling business. Mostly it is broken furniture (particleboard) and we cut it to fit the wood stove. We did two wood boxes full and two totes full, then quit because it was about to rain. It was humid and we were covered with flying sawdust from the chain saw. It stuck to our skin and clothing. We never got to the stacked wood pallets and we tarped over a pile of wood that our son had picked up out of the yard when he mowed grass. It is cut to length, but we have no place to store it. He put it up on top of stacked wood pallets that already had a tarp over them, so we laid another tarp on top of that.

I still need to get the stove pipe replaced to the wood stove and we have our daughter's graduation ceremony coming up in September in Vermont. I will really have to try to scrimp what I can, but I doubt I can do much saving before we need to use the stove or her graduation.

We still have no source of wood for this winter.
