Don't Go Home...

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Of course I will go home again, I just need to build up my resistance to old hauts and habits. When I hit the main drag into town I saw my favorite places to eat again and again all the way to my Mom's house. I was really tempted to stop at each one. These are places we celebrate, places we eat til we wanna pop. And FYI, all events are food related. Religious, family, sporting, entertainment, you name it, we make food the main event at all events. So going home was already going to be difficult under the circumstances I was going.
I had a ton of fun showing friends and family my weight loss progress and sharing some of the ways I've accomplished all I have. Got my sister and niece into weighted hula hooping. That was a blast. All of my "sisters" at my old job (family business) were excited for me about my weight loss and wanted to know how I did it.
As far as my failures - I had 4 huge slices of pizza, apple pie, homemade icecream directly upon walking in the door at my Mom's. WOW! Need I go on? The next morning wasn't any better really. I had Chick Fil A Grilled Chicken Salad no dressing, and abowl of soup. Not too bad huh. On my way out of town I bought 2 cans of Peace Tea...my absolute fave drinks in the world. I had formerly promised myself no canned drinks period. Oops, my other weakness is Monster Lo-Carb. I have 2 a week while at work. Epic Fail. So gotta get back to the beginning. My workouts have been lacking too. Thank goodnes for Les my trainer. She's helping me to start over. Now I've gotta get my mind back to where it was when I started.

I have not been home since New Year. But the holidays are coming up quickly so you're right I need a plan! I'm working on that as we speak.
And y'all are right, I can do this. I just hope I can do this soon. ;)

How often do you go home? If it's not often, don't sweat it. If it is, think of a plan to deal with it next time.
That's great that you were able to share your plans with your family. emoticon
