Day 228: I'm Bushed...
Tuesday, August 16, 2011
Sometime around 12:30 AM last night a 'friend' (I use the term loosely) called, three sheets to the wind. I wrapped it up quick (and none too graciously; I really cannot abide being awoken for no reason) (well, at least once the kids were sleeping through the night) but of course it took forever to fall back asleep.
Up super-early this morning - realtor and dentist appointments and general running around. A not-very-healthy Weight Watchers pizza (yes, it might have fewer calories than 'the real thing,' and less fat than a traditional carryout version, but it's got just as much sodium and way too many carbs) that raised my BG - which was already predisposed to going up with the added stress of the day. Mmphf.
Great conversation with the eldest - gah, he is SO much like his mother, poor kid! Sometimes it really does grate on me that I don't live closer to my kids. (Working from the assumption THEY would like to see more of ME - it's a question I don't ask, lol.) Those of you with grown kids who live within driving distance: give 'em a hug every now and then just because you can.
Tomorrow another realtor, Thursday groceries, errands, and maybe a haircut (Himself, not me, but I go along and go over to some of the shops), Friday the back therapist (sigh) AND the cardiologist (ACK). I can see it's gonna be a wiped-out weekend.
Wonder if it's a race weekend. Maybe I'll see if we can get together with some of the other Grand Prix aficionados. If nothing else, 'us girls' can shoot the breeze while the guys shout, holler and stomp. Hah.
That's it from me. I wasn't kidding about being tired. Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!
