No no no drama, no no drama drama-NO MORE DRAMA!

Ugh. I dont even know where to start this post. Let's see...it will be all over the place, so please bear with me.

My gym routine usually starts with me doing 20 minutes on the stairmaster. I am doing HIIT and it works out best for me to start there. So that is what I do. Problem is, there are only 2 stairmasters at my gym. It's stupid..I wish there were more. But I digress. Last Friday, I walked over the the SM with this girl Cyndi. I was suprised she was going, as she usually does the ellipitcal first thing. She said "yes, and Rick was going to come, but he went upstairs". I said..."should I let him go instead?" She told me no. Cyndi was done in about 15 minutes and Rick comes over to the SM. I told him I was sorry I had gotten on before him but I had no idea he was heading there. He sort of blew me off...guess I should have known that was a red flag. Later on I was on the elliptical and I see Rick downstairs at the check in desk pointing me out to an employee. WTH? I just thought whatever and kept working out. Nothing more was said or done so I finished my workout and left.

Fast forward to today. I get there before they open and Rick and Cyndi are outside. I asked her how her weekend was and we made small talk for a few. I then asked if we were THAT early that they could not open yet and she looks at Rick and says "gotta be if you want to get your machine." Um, ok. Then the manager opens the doors and Rick holds it open for Cyndi but practically shuts it on me. He checks his membership card in and then beelines for the stairmaster. He was practically sprinting there. I just made my way upstairs to the elliptical and did my thing there until the SM was free again. So I get down there and this lady starts talking to me and introduces herself. She started telling me about how the gym needs more SM's to accomodate everybody because she has a hard time getting on in the morning. She went on to tell me that she tried on Saturday but Cyndi was saving one for Rick so she went elsewhere. Then Rick came up to her and said "sorry for having Cyndi save the machine, but yesterday (as in FRIDAY), I put my stuff on there and turned to get a drink and this lady came and threw my stuff on the floor and got on instead." WHAAAAAAAAAAT? My eyes popped out of my head and I said "are you sure he said this happened on Friday? Morning??" She said "yes". So this guy is making up stories about me that I actually stole the machine from right out under him! That is so untrue! He went upstairs! I did not know he wanted the SM until Cyndi told me AND I aplogized to his sorry butt!

Are people that miserable in life that they have nothing better to do than make up stories about others?? I am at the gym to get healthy, I am not there to make friends or start drama. I just want to get my workout done and leave. If somebody wants to chit chat to make the time go faster, that is great, but seriously, I am not looking to make lifelong friendships (or new enemies) here. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO angry about this. Part of me wants to tell him off and tell him to get a life, but I am not going to do that. I am just going to change my workout routine. I am not going to fight with these people over time or machines. I don't have the energy for that. And I honestly feel that once all this dies down, they will most likely get back to their routine or doing the elliptical first. I am going to be the bigger person here. They can hate me and make up all the stories they want...I don't have time for this.

That is so ridiculous!! It's bad enough that he has to throw a hissy fit about not getting "his" machine when he wants it, but to be lying to the staff and other random strangers about it? So childish!

We have a similar situation in my gym -- so I make sure I am firstd in line every morning. It's a pain in the butt, -- but as I am on a tight schedule in the a.m. I HAVE to be on that machine or otherwise I won't make it to work on time. There is no 'saving' machine policy in my gym. If you are there, you are there. If not, out of luck.
