5 Goals For August : Review

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

1) I will have no alcohol AT ALL! My body needs a break.

Well I didn't stick rigidly to this, but I have realised over the past month that I don't need to drink as much alcohol as I was in the past. I've decided that I just need to drink less, and drink more water on a night out!

2) I will have no fizzy drinks.

I rarely drink fizzy drinks as it is, and when I do, it's with alcohol. I didn't manage to stick to this either but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. The occasionaly fizzy drink will not undo all my good work.

3) I will stick to my calorie goals of 1550 calories or less a day.

I thought that sticking to this for a month would be easy, but it wasn't. I want to be able to treat myself every now and again. I've decided that sticking to it at least 5 days a week is good enough for me.

4) I will exercise at least 5 times a week.

This was probably the easiest for me to stick to. While I didn't always make it to the gym 5 times a week, I always managed some form of exercise. However, i think I might have been pushing myself too hard, so I'm lowering this to 4 times a week now.

5) I will not spend money on anything I don't NEED.

I bought quite a bit that I didn't need, but, I work two jobs so if I want to treat myself I should be able to. I know I need to save money but there's no point saving money if it means I'm not enjoying life now.

So, to review, I didn't do to well at sticking to my goals BUT I learnt a few lessons from them. Hopefully, these will be helpful as I continue on this journey.

Doing a review and finding out where to change things and how to adjust your goals is a great way to go about developing a plan that works for YOU.

I think you did great! You stuck to the goals the best you could, but then adapted them to make them doable lifelong. I think it is a great achievement :)

I love how you did goals for the month and then reviewed them. I am going to do this for tomorrow. It sounds like you did really well. It would have been impossible to stick to all of them every day but it sounds like you were doing really well the majority of the time which is great! Keep up the good work! :-) xx
