Cookouts are hard, aren't they? And then you've got Carolina BBQ - the best! - but we won't even go there! If you were to leave off the cheese and - if you don't mind them - eat a few pickles in place of the fries, you could pare down quite a few calories. If the bun was a light one and you used some fat-free American cheese - I believe Kraft makes one that's only 25 cal./slice - better yet... And then there's eating slo-o-owly and making lots of conversation...and then maybe some extra Diet Coke! All kinds of tricks to the trade, and you will master 'em :) emoticon

Avoiding temptation at work is super hard! I was working on a govt site for 10 months where I was completely in the middle of no where and had no choice but to eat what I brought with me. That helped me a lot. Then I was moved to a job in town where I am within 5 minutes of half a dozen fast food places and 2 minutes away from a convenience store which is all too convenient... lol. I relapsed for a few weeks but I'm back on it again. Its all about packing a healthy treat or 2 that will give you motivation to eat what you brought. And, think about all the money you will save when you bring your lunch versus eating out... That was a big motivator for me. It is tough but it can be done!!! You are in weight loss mode right now, soon you will be in maintain mode and you can afford to eat out once and a while. I went from 202 to 171 now and it does suck to feel deprived but once you see results, its too hard to go back!!! At least, thats how it was for me. Good luck girlie! emoticon

I was thinking you meant a cookout, not a restaurant. I would suggest if you do that, eat the burger without the but and maybe find a lighter side.
