Everyone knows that in order to lose weight, you need to burn off more calories than you eat. But with our crazy hectic schedules we really can't afford to work out for long spans, like two or three hours a day, so how can we achieve our goal?
Well, we have a few easy tips that will help you burn off the calories, and still be able to do everything else you need to do!
1. Take every opportunity you have to walk!
Instead of looking for the closest parking spot to a store when you are shopping, park as far away as you can, so you can get your walking in. Even while you are shopping, take advantage of this time to walk briskly throughout the store. It is even better if you are grocery shopping because you will have a big shopping cart, which will add some resistance to your walk, and will help you burn more calories.
2. Get your family involved!
Instead of having a family movie night, why not have a family fitness night! Go out in the backyard and play a game of touch football or tag. Go to the park and play with your kids on the jungle gym. Or go on a family walk around the neighborhood.
3. Get your friends active!
Instead of planning to meet for dinner, meet for a game of tennis. Or plan a hike together, or even plan to go out to a club together and dance! You will still get to be social, but active at the same time!
4. Turn inactive time into active time!
Instead of just sitting on the couch while watching TV, why not do crunches or Pilates while watching your favorite show! Another great idea is to put a TV in front of your workout equipment so you can enjoy your shows while also running on a treadmill or elliptical machine!
