This week has been difficult for me at home. My power has been out since Monday evening for my whole building. Con Ed is giving us the runaround -- they say the problem lies with the building management. The building management is predictably blaming Con Ed. In any case, I have no lights and I can't do isht at home.
I can't cook so I have been eating out most meals. And honestly, I haven't been making the best choices and that is totally my fault. (You can review ALL my decisions in my food log which is public.) Last night I did go to the store to get PB&J so at least I can make that at home.
I normally do most of my ST at home usually because I tend to feel rather self conscious at the gym. But my power outage got me to the gym last night! You know why? I needed to take a hot shower! So I got in a really good workout - mostly ST - and I took a shower too.
I'm trying to stay positive during all of this. A few days during the week, my schedule has me leaving home really early and coming home after sundown. My apartment is a mess and I feel like a bad cat mom! But the power outage has me coming into the office early to log some extra hours and enjoy the warm glow of all the fabulous electricity.
Besides the light, this is what I really miss at home this week:
-air conditioning (it's been in the 80s in NY)
-my SonicCare toothbrush (it ran out of juice 1 day into the power outage)
-charging my dang cell phone (my car charger is crap)
On the bright side, it is so dark and quiet that sleep is blissful at home right now. Usually the lights from the parking lot shine into my apartment and the hum and thrum of various appliances and such can be heard at all times. But without power, it is so quiet and dark. I have been sleeping well this week.
Anyway, thanks for listening to me vent and I resolve to make better food choices today!
