What I've Been Up To

Monday, October 10, 2011

Still staying at the family camp in Louisiana. Working on "unmuddying" the pond (Bullcats). Got baby Coturnix quail in the brooder, making cages. Also have button quail in a separate brooder, making cage for them too. And 4 muscovy ducklings, will be 5 weeks old in a couple of days. They're camping out on the front porch, messy little critters. Still need to build a chicken tractor, have chicks coming soon.

These are baby button quail.

This is a coturnix quail baby.

My ducklings: Gumbo, Ettouffee, Gravy and Sauce Picaunte

I love the names you gave your ducklings! I have never heard of button quail before! They are sooooo tiny! We have a buff orpington hen that hatched out a solitary chick. It's so cute watching that big ole puffed up momma taking care of one tiny baby.

I'm glad you're enjoying your time down home.

    Be blessed!
