Reflections on A Year

Thursday, October 13, 2011

I have been a part of Sparkpeople for 1 year now and have interacted with many interesting people. All of our journeys have been hard at one time or another. All of us have just one goal - to succeed in this journey.

We’ve had setbacks due to health, willpower, temptations in the kitchen, vacations, non-supportive husbands and discouragement with our progress. We know what we have to do to achieve success – STICK WITH IT.

So we journey on, pick ourselves up and try to “GIT ER DONE”.

As for myself, I lost 30 pounds in the first 2.5 months and have been at a plateau since then. I keep gaining and losing the same 6-7 pounds. That tells me I am successful at maintaining within a certain range. Now all I have to do is kick start my journey again so I can move onto achieving my goal. I looked back at my daily food log and saw what I was doing in those first few months. Snacks have crept back into my diet. I was drinking soda during the summer ( I cut that out again). Going out to eat on weekends has got to be restricted. My exercise has got to increase.

I will be successful !
I will be a thinner, healthier ME !
I want to be there for my DH and Grandkids !

I think just sticking with the SparkPeople site is a big step. Seems like about a fourth of my spark friends are no longer a part of the program. Some just never log on anymore and some have completely shut down their page.
I'm looking forward to my 2nd year anniversary!

    Yay for You! emoticon emoticon
