Went to NC for a 3 day weekend. We have 5 acres of land and this is our 3rd trip in the last 6 weeks. Usually my DH is cleaning up the wooded area, cutting down unwanted trees and cleaning up the open area from the weeds that overtook it during the summer. What I do is keep him company, read my book, go down to the creek and basically relax.
Not this weekend. He cut down about 25-30 pine trees. Most of them were about 6 inches in diameter and 30 feet tall. A few were alot larger and taller. Said he needed help. So I helped with the "logging". Picked up and stacked brush, dragged logs to a pile and stacked them.
When we go back in November for a week, hopefully we get some rain so we can burn some of the brush. Told him I would help again if we only worked till 2PM and then do some fun stuff after that. Chimney Rock Park is close by and they have a hiking trail. The condo has a pool and an exercise room. We might take advantage of those amenities.
Good weekend, lot of fall colors and mild temperatures. We won't mention the buffet 2 days in a row.
