Reboot Entry day 3

Still going strong.

I haven't talked much about what I'm eating and drinking now. The meals are all vegetarian. I don't know if I can call them vegan, as there is olive oil involved - does that negate the veganismness? Yes, that's a made up word.

I have a fruit dish for breakfast, then a juice for a mid-morning snack. The juice is at least 16 oz, sometimes more. I have a hearty lunch - salad and soup, then either a soup or salad for afternoon snack. Last evening, I had veggie soup and sweet potato and carrot fries. They were very good. Again, everything is in my nutrition tracker, so take a look if you'd like. The hungry pangs are less now, so it's not so much about cravings as it is simply being hungry.

Saturday - 228.8
Sunday - 224.8
Monday - 223.0
Tuesday - 222.6

Nice. Not as dramatic, certainly, but I'm ok with that. I don't have any grandiose dreams that I'm going to drop 15 lbs total over 15 days. I would very much like to bust out of the 220s and take up residence in the 2teens for a while, though. That would be celebratory.

I made it to the gym for my ST last night. I forgot it was Halloween. Our Zumba instructor has kids, so the class was cancelled. That's alright, I'll get back there on Wednesday. I signed up for the Spark Trick-or-Treat 5K this week, so I need to get my run on. I admit, I'm going to run tonight, Thursday, and Sunday, and take the best of the 3 to enter.

Oh. I just realized. Today's my one year anniversary of not smoking.

In a year's time I believe I've had maybe 3 cigarettes. The last one was back in May amidst very high stress, and even then, it was just yucky. I'm a true non-smoker now.

Time for my mid-morning juice - a Mexican-style Jugo.

    Congrats on eating whole foods. Good solid clean foods make sense. And funny but they can take some time to prepare-- glad you are getting into a habit. Apparently it takes a couple of weeks of concerted effort to make something a habit, so you re on your way!

    Change up is good when we are stuck. Thanks for sharing how you are doing yours,

    Congrats on starting the reboot! Sounds like it is going really well!! I bet you'll be out of the 20's in no time! I started Eat To Live and I am on week 3 of a 6 week intro plan. It's all vegan but you can eat beans, seeds, and nuts which aren't included in the reboot. So far so good. I am losing about 3 pounds a week so far.

    Good for you for sticking with it! I think the first week of a big change is the hardest, and then your body really starts to get into it. Yes, what you're doing is vegan -- olive oil is vegan (I'm assuming there's no honey in anything you're eating; that isn't vegan). By the way, if you're curious/bored, take a look at nomeatathlete.com; he's vegan and a runner, and he has some very interesting articles about healthy vegan food for athletes.

    Oh, and I'm pretty sure you'll bust out of the 220s pretty quickly. If you keep this up, you'll probably bust out of the 210s before the end of the year!

    Wow! You're doing fabulous. My friend just started eating vegan and she is losing fast. I'm jealous! LOL

    Seems like this reboot is working so far. I may just have to look into this plan. I've been kind of stuck at the moment. Love hearing your updates.

    I didn't realize you'd quit smoking recently. Good for you! I'm sure that's been huge for your running career!

    When I said you had me thinking about this reboot thing, I meant it, but I realized I can't act on it until after Thanksgiving if I'm really going to give it a run. I figure I better keep eating the way I am now through the half marathon, and then i can mess with my nutrition after that.

    That said, they're predicting a frost coming through on Thursday, so I harvested the last of our tomatoes red and green, so I need a plan for them.

    And I'd forgotten my dh is going away for the weekend which cramps my style for the school auction Friday night (think I'll abandon the boys for an hour or so anyway and just keep phone contact with them) plus getting in my 12 mile run over the weekend, too. Still grieving I won't be running my half with my sis. Not sure how bad her injury is but she's on crutches until Thursday when she sees the ortho guy.
