Strange thing to blog about I know!

This spanking new, only second summer, mower would not start on Sat. The battery kept needing to be recharged. It is kept outside in an unheated shed, might have something to do with it.

Anyway, I was in a time crunch this weekend. Had to be at a fundraiser at 4 Pm, got home from work on Sat at 2:30 by the time I finished picking up all the fallen branches from the wind in the yard it was 3:00 pm.

i knew I'd not have time to finish all of it, (it takes me about 2.50 hours to cut and trim the yard) I figured I'd do the yard first, then walk the front, back and trim around everything else in the morning.

Well the thing would not start, GRRRRRR! So I went to the car to jump it, was not paying attention and put red to black. Not realizing it, til later of course!

So I ended up doing most of the trim first.

Got to the fundraiser about 4:20. It was held at a friends business, which happens to be a transformer business. I was telling them about the battery etc. They told me probably just fried the battery, ok no biggie, you might also need to replace the fuse. FUSE???? Who knew... Where is it? I ask, could be anywhere... great I can't find the booklet ...... .

I get the battery out Sunday morning and right under the battery is the FUSE! YEA!! It was a little hard to get out and It was also fried. It saved the rest of the electrical system, thank you GOD!

Put the new battery and fuse in started right up!

Now to Coach Nicole! The Best Buy at a near town was hosting a SPARK People event. It had started at 1 pm, but because of the lawn mover drama, by the time I was done with the whole deal and and getting the mowers ready for winter...... yada yada it was a little after 2:15 pm. I really had wanted to go to see Coach Nicole and try to win a free Spark exercise DVD..... Almost talked myself out of it.

Well I decided to go anyway. Glad I did! She is so nice and taller than I thought! AND so cute!! I got my picture taken with her, not very flattering to me, as did not change from cutting the grass, due to time, but I don't care, here it is!

They had other cool stuff they were raffling off. Didn't win any of that, but I did get a FREE SPARK PEOPLE Coach Nicole exercise DVD that she signed! How cool, is that?!?!

So A Triple win for me! Saved my lawn tractor, meet Coach Nicole AND got a free signed DVD! Not a bad weekend overall!

Now that's really neat. So nice that you put forth the effort.
I have done the battery bit once, you then learn, was on a tractor, I noticed it within a hour, all I had to do was lay a piece of metal across both post to drain battery back to dead. It worked. Thought your original battery should have lasted longer that a year, I usually get 4=5 years out of those small ones, BUMMER!
    Great picture of you BOTH!

You are quite the homeowner. I thought I was a pretty amazing woman adjusting the spring on my push mower! It sounds like you were able to get what you needed done this weekend, regardless of the little hick-ups. So when you reversed red to black did it harm the car battery? Just asking for my own future knowledge.
