First things first:

That's like.. whoa. I know, I know, I'm going to bounce back up once I'm off the Reboot. I'm ok with that. As I told GayleP67 earlier, this whole experience has proven to me that a) I CAN stick to a plan if I really want to, b) I CAN release more lbs, I'm not doomed to be stuck in the 220s, and c) it's nobody's fault but my own that I was 'stuck' where I was. I don't have to give in to every craving, or to the containers of ice cream that Bill bought the other day and is eating from every evening (really? thanks for the support there, guy!)

I want this Reboot to mean something. I want it to be meaningful - not just a 15 day blip on my weight trending line, but a for-real shift in my thinking. I think it has been. Ok, so yea, I'll go ahead and have the whole grain waffle Sunday morning LOL but I will drastically decrease the amount of grains I take in daily. I'll eat more whole foods, less processed. I will work at getting my needed protein from natural sources rather than a protein powder (which is what I was doing before and I'm wondering if that was causing my digestive problems).

We have a meeting today, and the head of our group brought donuts for everyone. Sincerely, that's thoughtful of him, he didn't have to do that. However, he dropped them at my desk to maintain until it's time for the meeting. I ignored it for a while, but something happened and suddenly.. there was this.. whiff.. of SUGAR!


I didn't necessarily want a donut, but the scent was too much. I moved them to a coworker's desk LOL I have a baggie of seedless grapes that I'll eat at the meeting instead of a donut, and feel good about it.

This evening, the menu calls for a corn and tomato salsa over a green salad for dinner. Yum! But, it's cold and damp and calls more for soup rather than salad. So I asked Bill to put together the Reboot Green Veggie soup. It's tasty, warm, and delish, and substitutes in well for the salsa and salad. That's how I'm not following the plan 100% - I swap out available alternatives, which they do say on the site is ok to do.

So there. Friday's underway. One staff meeting, and an early out will see me home in time to harness up the girlies and drag them around the neighborhood. Hopefully Saturday early will be clear, as we're hoping to take the bikes out to the Springwater trail for a ride. Sunday? Dinner and a movie out. I feel like I'm coming out from under a cloud, and even though it's still dark and damp and dreary here, I've got a little bit of sunshine going on.

    I'm so glad you're sharing this reboot experience with us! It sounds like it's been really beneficial for you. I like that there is enough flexibility in the plan that you can have soup on the cold and dreary days. Nice!

    I'm so incredibly proud of you! You do such a great job of putting your mind to something and working it. As yummy as the salad sounded, I think I would have opted for swapping it out for the soup too. And GREAT job avoiding the doughnuts and the ice're showing amazing will power.

    Great job -- I'm glad you know you can do this! BTW, I can't recall if I've recommended it to you before, but take a look at He's a runner, and vegan, and he does have some good articles in there about how he works his nutrition. I'll tell you, as a non-runner, it made me feel a lot better about my nutritional input.

    218!! Awesome!! I know what you mean about certain smells triggering cravings. That tends to be my big problem with social events. All the smells make me want stuff that I normally would not even think of. Good for you for resisting!

    Awesome! Your determination to reboot (and make your own sunshine) is an inspiration.
    I am sitting here in my office looking out at the gloomy fog...thinking no outside exercise today for me. Just gotta go to that studio cycling class though.

    Let us know how that waffle tastes/what you think about grains when they come back in....

    I've been trying to lower my gluten this week. Just a handful of cereal on my yogurt and fruit in the morning. I feel much better when I do that.
