New Year's Resolutions???

Thursday, January 05, 2012

I was wondering if anyone makes new year's resolutions? Last year my resolution was to get to my goal weight for my birthday..I got pretty close and I was happy...I gained back some of the weight so now I am back again making the same resolution...I hate this gain/lose cycle and I wish I knew how to break it but at least I am trying to lose it and I hope that I am not making the same resolution next year...

Do you see the start of 2012 as an opportunity to improve your life? Have you made any changes or resolutions? Do you want to? If not, why not?

I'm always excited for the new year to begin, but I'm not one for resolutions. Instead I pick a word or a affirmation and make that the focus of my year.

    How's your 2012 so far?

p.s. I too have been on the gain/lose see-saw. I finally got a nutritionist and the problem is---I keep thinking of "eating healthy" as a "diet" that will eventually end. I need to change my thinking. This is the way I will eat for the rest of my life. Even AFTER I've reached my weight goal.

Hello - I haven't been on in awhile but am back now as well. I guess I didn't really make a resolution out loud to anyone but I really believe I was thinking in the back of my mind - "Hey it's a new year and you could have a new start" guess that got my back to wanting to be on track with my health and weight again.
It's good to be back and see my spark friends again.
Hope you are having a good new year so far.

    Hi Cindy

I don't make resolutions for the New Years, sometime in 2011, I decided I was going to reach 200 lbs in 2012, then later in the year, I thought when I was 18 I was 180, I felt good/great, was happiest in my life and I am going to hit that weight by my birthday, on May 28th, 180 lbs, and then decide, if I'm going lower. (At the age of 11 I was 154 and the biggest child in the elementary school. We'll see. Right now will be totally happy with 180.

I signed up for the January Jump Start. It last 28 days, that should make it a habit, did you join yet?
