Calorie Calculation 101

Wednesday, April 04, 2012

I searched for information on my recommended calorie intake and goals for losing 2 lbs. a week - I swear, Spark is making it harder & harder to find this information. I just need to stay at this & then I wouldn't have to keep searching for it when I get this bug... Anyway, I found this link, which is really the root of daily recommended calories & calorie burn. My biggest wake-up call here was what I already know:

1 pound = 3500 calories
To lose 2 lbs. a week, I need a deficit of 7000 calories (OR) 1000 calores a DAY!

I really need to get tracking the calories in and be dilligent about my workouts...

I logged my food and exercise today - YAY me :)

I also made it through Day 4 of my PUSH goals... this time around was challenging.

How are you guys doing?

Here is the link to calorie calc 101:

Thanks for sharing! I use the bodybugg website and am thankful it spelled all this out. I had no idea what my actual deficit's were daily but do now. You can do this!

Great job! I find it so helpful to copy meals from previous days. There's a button when you're tracking that says "copy foods". It saves so much time when you're tracking condiments and all that jazz!

Here's to your happy, healthy self!!!
