Accountability and weekly plan

Friday, April 13, 2012

I have never been very good at blogging for various reasons. I am going to try it again but this time with a plan. What I am committing to do, as of today, is that every week I will write about my success and failures for the week and what I plan to do over the next week. There will be two weeks in May that I plan on missing since I will be out of the country and I am not sure if I will be able to access the internet (we are going to visit my husband's family again).

Two weeks ago it was announced that one of the program managers is leaving our agency. My boss (the program manager of the program I work for) and I are taking over some of the items that the person who left took care of, and whenever I mention this to anyone I work with they are all like "so you are actually taking it over". This would be great if it also wasn't one of the busiest months for me (OpBud needs to be completed and submitted along with federal grant reimbursements submitted and then ramping up for year end). Anyways, the past two weeks have been really busy between work, school, and the toddler, and I do not plan on it getting any better. The past two weeks I have slacked off on my eating habits and had several larger sodas and the scale shows that - I gained 3 lbs in two weeks, which being that I am over 330lbs, it is not noticeable to the normal person.

Anyways, to get myself back on track, my plan for the next week is to be mindful of what I eat and to completely cut out soda or high calorie drinks. There is no reason that I need a soda - if I get bad indigestion, then I will just drink mineral water (the carbonation helps me) and if I feel that I need to drink something besides water, I can always make tea. Beginning Monday, I will walk at least 15 minutes a day - 30 on the days that I do not take my lunch for my class time.

My plan is that next Friday, I will post a blog to let everyone know how I did on my goals for the week and what my plan for the next week is. I promise to not beat myself up if I fall off the wagon and will only get back up and start again.

I hope that everyone has a great week and that things go smoothly for you!

You seem to blog pretty good. I use to pack a sandwich for lunch and eat at my desk that way I would walk on my lunch on the good days. I gets me out of the sitting position and makes the day seem to move a little faster. Sometimes at a desk you feel like the day will never end.
