ABC's of me...for BLC challenge...Forest Pixies

Friday, April 20, 2012

emoticon
A is for ABOVE and BEYOND...Does competition push you?

Yes...I do like to be challenged. Living in a rural area does not allow me to have the socialization with exercise/weight loss that I need...but since I found the BLC...problem solved!

B is for BLC rounds... Newbie?(first BLC round) Oldie?(1-3 rounds) Goldie?(long time BLCer)? Former BLC team(s)?

Newbie...glad to be here!

C is for CHILDREN...you have?

I have a five-year-old son and an infant daughter (3 months). emoticon

D is for DOWNFALL...what's you're biggest temptation?

Chocolate and hand held snacks...if I have to unwrap it, I won't eat it. emoticon

E is for EXCUSE...what is your most famous? How can we help you overcome it?

"This is my last night before I start to eat healthy...might as well enjoy.".

I will overcome it by knowing that I have started "day 1" emoticon and therefore, no more chances for foolish eating.

F is for FURRY FRIENDS...you have?

I have a black lab and a cat, named Miss Kitty. I still miss my darling yellow lab, Katie, who crossed the rainbow bridge last April 30th. She was my "baby". Pictures of my labs are on my sparkpage. emoticon emoticon

G is for GROCERIES...what do you fill your cart with?

diapers, formula, too many carbs but not usually anything bad. My DH will do that for me!

H is for HOME...what state do you call home?

Massachusetts, but was born and raised on Long Island, New York.

I is for INSPIRE...who or what is your roll model/inspiration?

My sister-in-law has less than 10% body fat and it very fitness minded. At 50, she is amazing and very youthful. I think I also need to think about this more...good question.

J is for JOB...What do you do for a living?

I teach 5th grade. My passions are literature and American history, as well as reading. I lack the time for such hobbies now but if you get me started talking about Abigail Adams or such...I will talk your ear off without realizing it. I love my job. emoticon

K is for KEEP IT SIMPLE...What's your focus when short on time?

Now...sleeping and getting things done that have to be done, like laundry and school work.

L is for LOG...Do you use the Nutrition and Fitness trackers?

I always used the fitness tracker but for the past two days, I have used the nutrition tracker and learned a lot about how much I am really eating.

M is for MOTIVATION...Which gives you more, Mirror or Scale?

Scale emoticon motivates me more as I don't truly "see" myself as I really look. I still think I am 20 years old with a slim waist.

N is for NAME...What's the meaning behind your sparkname?

Prior to having children (I did not think I could have them), my pets were my family. I had two labs that I loved!~

O is for OUNCES...How many ounces of water do you consume on a daily basis?

Constant struggle to drink water....but when I was pregnant...I drank at least 100 ounces a day...now...drinking 6 ounces is a huge task. emoticon

P is for PRODUCE...How many fruits and veggies do you consume daily?

I like fruit but hate veggies (except carbs like corn and potatoes). I have been trying to eat fruit at snack at school. emoticon

Q is for QUOTE...what's your favorite?

“Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence.”
― Abigail Adams

R is for ROUTINE...Average number of days and minutes you exercise weekly?

This is new for me after having a baby and I actually do not have a routine. Consistency has been a problem for me in regard to exercise.

S is for STATUS...Married, Single, Involved, Other?

Happily married for almost 15 years! emoticon

T is for TIME...What time zone are you in?

EST...New England, USA

U is for UNWIND...What is your favorite pass time or hobby?

Reading emoticon and cross-stitching. I also like to watch Masterpiece Classics and British classics are a favorite. I was a big fan of Downton Abbey on PBS.

V is for VACATION...If you could travel anywhere, what destination would you choose?

We have traveled to Vermont and Maine. My honeymoon was in Williamsburg, VA but we really want to see out west (Utah) etc.

W is for WEIGHT WORKOUT...Do you follow a consistent ST program?

Not yet...this is where the BLC comes in.

X is for "X" MARKS THE SPOT...What do you want to see happen these 12 weeks, other than the scale move?

I want to feel successful at weight loss. I have been "trying" for years...it is not time to act.

Y is for YESTERDAY...Do you dwell on poor choices or allow them to push you forward?

A little of both...I need to make good choices to be an example for my children.

Z is for ZERO...name one weight loss tool you couldn't live without?

My exercise workout DVD's

Hello Pixie! You have a beautiful family. I was told I'd never have children and am now blessed to see my boys smiles every day. Loved reading your list. I spent the last few months eating the treats because tomorrow I was going to start eating healthy. Ugh. And, like you, I am constantly surprised when I see myself in pictures or a mirror as I still think of myself the way I was in my 20's. Looking forward to this journey on BLC and having a lot of fun!

What an incredible story about your little ones! My husband and I can't have children (had a hysterectomy almost 4 years ago) and so I always love to hear about folks who struggled with and overcame infertility. Right now, our black lab Vinyl is our baby! And boy, is he a handful!

Glad to meet you Christie! What part of MA do you live in? I'm on the north shore in a town called Danvers. I applaud your career as a teacher. My girls have had great teachers so far and I think that makes a world of difference. My oldest will be in 5th next year. I think that is such a pivotal year as you prepare them to go off to middle school.

Hi, there! So glad to meet you! The story about your little ones is just beautiful.

Boy, do I hear you about water - perhaps we can encourage one another.

It's so cool that your friends had a traditional Japanese ceremony - I bet it was beautiful!
