Food Blog to the Rescue?

Monday, June 25, 2012

About a month ago I started a food blog. I love to cook and I thought now that I'm home full time, I'm finished with school and I'm at sort of a crossroads in my life sitting in the lobby of my career goals waiting on this layover to hurry up and get over with, I needed something to do. I love food, so I might as well blog about it!

Since I started blogging about food, I noticed I'm more conscious about what I'm eating, and I have less desire to eat all the time. Interesting...coincidence, I think not, but the scientist in me says it'll take some time to prove, lol. My speculation of what's going on is 1. I have a new hobby to take up some of my time. 2. I am able to relive the deliciousness of the food with my eyes, bringing back the memories of it so I don't have to eat it to enjoy it (cheesy, yes, but that's psychologically what I think is going on). 3. Immersing myself in the blogging is making me be conscious about what I consume. I can plan out things better because I know I want to blog about it, so I plan the rest of my meals for the day around what I want to try for the blog.

I do think food blogging has helped me, and I'm glad I started it! My blog isn't focused on healthy food, just my kitchen and the happenings within it in general, so if you check it out, please don't be made at me if it's a bit too unhealthy at times! In defense though, I do plan on reviewing a good number of Spark Recipes as I try them. Also, I'm of the belief that you can eat anything you want, as long as it's in moderation!

Just kidding. It's interesting the way our eating and appetite can be affected by so many different things.
