Friday afternoon, I got home from work and the a/c was already on and cooling the house. The puppies wanted to romp on the big bed for a while, but I put them off, put on my tennies, and hit the sidewalk for a walk.

Saturday morning Bill and I got up at regular time, and knowing the temp was going to creep up toward the upper 90s, decided to get an early walk in, leaving the house at 6:0. I wish that could be an every day occurrence! We thought we'd get about 6 miles done, but it turned out to be 7 instead. Fine by us! We spent the rest of the day grocery shopping, and spoiling the puppies with lots of naps and tummy rubs. It's a rough life!

Unfortunately, I lost my mind that evening and finished off what cashews were left in the house that were supposed to be turned into nut butter for the week. That was not good.

Sunday, we slept in, and enjoyed catching up on the Olympics, spoiling puppies with more naps and tummy rubs, and of course laundry and dishes and sweeping and mopping. While we didn't make any overt fitness moves, we didn't sit the entire day away either. Mostly.
emoticon

Over all, I'd call this weekend a success. I absolutely did NOT need the cashews. I need to be stronger when it comes to avoiding after-dinner nighttime snacking.

How was your weekend?

Wow! You're doing so well. I'm excited for you.

My roommate has been making air popped popcorn lately. I have to not over do it because of the fiber content but it's a nice crunchy snack that feels like you're getting gobs for not a lot of calories. Is this something that would work for your night time urge to snack? Just a thought.

I can't believe how far you walked! Maureen should have gone with you! Toby and I could have walked around in circles and then napped til ya'll got back. LOL

    Keep going! You're doing great!

Sounds and looks like you had a great weekend, Candy. Good job!

I did well this weekend too. It was an extra long weekend for me. I've taken Fridays off until the end of the summer (lots of vacation days to use up this year) and today was a civic holiday so the office was closed. 4 days off was nice. I made sure I got my couple of miles of walking in every day and got in a little extra today. Spent the last 3 nights cooking dinner for my parents and spent the better part of today filling their freezer with some meals. I controlled my eating this weekend - no binges!

Had a productive day today with cleaning, running errands and then going to the folks' so I'm feeling GREAT!

Here's to a great week for all of us!!

Glad to see you had a great weekend! The cashews could be worse - they could have been chocolate covered, or even baked in cookes :) I'd put that splurge at a 4 on a 1 to 10 scale...

Sounds like a successful weekend overall to me! I can't start on cashews or I will eat way too many of them--those and pretzels (sigh). WOO HOO for you!

Oh, a smooch! Why thank you!

Your weekend does sound like a success. A weekend to build on.

My boys had a summer cold for like 4 or 5 days, and as of yesterday it started descending on me. Got my 3 mile run in this morning which was good because I haven't run since my tri 9 days ago. Saturday was supposed to be a 7 mile long run. I'll have to tweak my 1/2 marathon plan because I'm doing the San Jose RnR in October.
