30 miles til 30-week 6 recap (REALLY LATE)

Wednesday, August 08, 2012

I do not remember watching the Olympics as a child. My son is fascinated, as I am, with the swimming.
Maybe, because he cannot swim, he thinks they are simply better than him. Maybe it is because they are better than ANYONE I KNOW!

I was in the pool at my mom's house and I clumsily swam from one side to the other and DS exclaimed, "You should be in the Olympics!!" emoticon
I smiled at his enthusiasm, and then wondered why I don't hold myself to higher standards?
Are these athletes born with superior genes?
They work hard, train hard, they WANT TO BE THE BEST!!!
Do I want to be the best? Am I struggling to achieve greatness or good enough-ness?

What I learned in week 6
1) I learned that we should all have dreams of being in the olympics!
2) I learned that our children see us as heroes-act like one!
3) I learned wearing a skirt keeps me from getting extra fitness! emoticon

Week 1-3.01
Week 2-7.53
Week 3-1.38
Week 4-3.39
Week 5-3.38
Week 6-5.04 emoticon

Total: 21.24/30

#3 yes that is true but, I know from reading that, that you truly are a lady, ladies wear skirts. Don't worry about it.. I do dream but, I don't know about wanting to be in the Olympics - maybe of winning the lottery, to pay off my Mothers bills, she is 90.

#3 is really unexpected LOL But I completely agree with that!
I like #2, I think my oldest niece think me as a jump rope champion as she seems to like see me jumping, even try to follow :D
#1, that a nice dream to have!

You're nearly one third of your 30 weeks, going steady by complete at least a bit more than 1 mile, WELL DONE. Me, a bit ashamed that I had skip last week of not doing even 1 jump rope
:( But I'm back again on my feet, not going to let that one week to drag me down!
