System Out of Whack!

I started the Month of August fierce! I biked 5 times a week for a minimum of 40 minutes, for the first week, and started off the second week dong the same. I was feeling pretty good. Then, screeching halt as my GI system went a little haywire.
My Parents have been planning a trip to Utah to see my Sister and her family since January. They left August 11th and I spent the Wednesday morning before at the Swap Meet. My two youngest nephews had requested zip-front Hoodies from Hawaii. We had been looking in the stores, but it is a little early in the season for hoodies, and when we did find one, it was either more than we wanted to pay, or not “from Hawaii”. Some one suggested the Swap Meet, and I offered to go, since Mom had to work. Pop had his monthly Doctor’s appointment that afternoon. I had planned to take my bike and get in some time after everything was done. The Big Guy decided to join me, since he now has a bike of his own. Best laid plans and all; The Big Guy had a rude awakening. He is REALLY out of shape. Because he was with me, I did not ride like I wanted too. We went to McDonald’s for lunch.
My Pop got a Kindle Fire for Father’s day. I do not have WI-FI at home, and my temperamental computer won’t let me transfer through the USB cable. So I had him pick out some games and music at home, then we would download them at the Hospital while we were waiting for the doctor. Well, one game took 20 minutes to download. I ended up going to McDonald’s to finish down loading the other 10. Because we were there, we ate dinner. We got home around 9pm that night.
Thursday, I ended up spending all day doing laundry and cooking dinner, then as soon as Mom got home and we ate, grocery shopping at Costco. I wanted to stock up on some staples before they left. By the time we got home that evening, I was dealing with a constant ache/nauseous feeling. I thought it might have been a combination of all the fast food the day before and possibly some milk that was starting to turn. I ended up calling in sick to work the entire weekend. I was living off of crackers and diet 7-up. With out being too graphic, let’s just say I was terrified of being away from the bathroom. I finally went to see the doctor, and he gave me some acid reducer. I am still feeling a little bloated, but I actually have an appetite, now. One of my co-workers suggested I try a digestive enzyme supplement. I think I will. I am not real comfortable using a strong acid reducer for an extended period.
Today, I am actually feeling well enough to try riding after work. Hopefully, that goes well.
The really sad thing is I gained weight even though I have hardly been eating. I am hoping it is just water bloat, and once I can start eating more normally, it will quickly come off.
