Offered a new Job

Monday, August 27, 2012

I had an interview today about a new job, but with the same company I am currently working for. I have been there for 33 1/2 years now and what is great, you can transfer different places if you get burned out and still keep the same vacation, and seniority. I love the company I work for and have grown so much over the years.

I wasn't sure about taking the new job, but my current job is just so stressful and I hate what I am doing currently. Well, I don't hate it, I am burned out and am not treated very well there. I have been doing the same thing for more than 8 years and I need a change. We got a new boss who doesn't really like me too.

Only thing is that my hours will only be 20 ours a week, 4 hours a day Mon thru Fri, 2pm to 6pm. Off every weekend. I currently work 6am to 2:30pm 3 days one week and 4 the next week, every other weekend.

I will have to cut back on my spending but may be able to pick up extra hours in their evening clinic. It will be only on the phones, taking messages from patients to help the doctors with their time and work.

I will be able to make breakfast for my son and take him to school but have to figure out a way to get him home. I will have time for myself in the mornings to get things done and exercise and have ME TIME!!!

I prayed, meditated, used my cards and Pendulum and all got answers of YES, I really want this to be right, not just take it to get out of where I am currently working.

I will still be able to teach my classes but will have to rush home to get ready for it. I was really scared to make a commitment at first but once I did call and say YES, I felt like it was the right decision. They will give me the time off for my vacation in October too and that is a HUGE plus.

We will see how it goes, changing from 56 hours a pay day to 40 will be less taxes. I will just trust Spirit and not worry about that part.

THANK YOU my dear angles and God for your guidance and love!!

Thank you everyone, I am getting more excited now!

Only a few more days left to go.

I'm so very behind in reading blogs! This is great news. I understand about the fear and trepidation - been there, but when you've gotten the answer, and once you've said "yes" and if feels right... I'm pretty sure it is - no matter how it turns out... you've chosen to take the opportunity that knocked. Fingers crossed that you enjoy if from the first moment. CJ

I think it's a good thing and if the money won't be enough I'm sure a new opportunity will show up, that won't be so stressful . I also reduced my workload a lot , quit the 3rd job and only " visiting" the second, odd , the money are the same emoticon ( so why am I working so much in the first place? ) and declined a 5 times better paid job cause it was less freedom and the place where it was didn't resonate with me. if your heart is at peace with the new job , ignore the brain , the heart always knows better .

I'm so glad you got the new job! Burnout is never good and it is wonderful that you found a way to change it up without the usual vacation loss.

It sounds like a great opportunity for you right now in your life. You have been through so much lately that this will give you time to center and refresh "YOU".

I know change is uncertain, but this will be a terrific opportunity for you. Even though the hours may not be the best, you may be able to add more hours later. I'm sure once you're settled, the hours will be a bit more flexible.

As far as picking up your son, do you know any of the other parents who live near by ? Perhaps you could offer carpooling services. You pick up the kids on days you can. Another parent picks up the kids on days you're not available.

Does the school have afternoon activities ? If your job keeps you from picking your son up at a certain time, why not sign him up for after school activities ? Then you could pick him up at a later time and you'd know he'd be safe.

    Wishing you the best !

emoticon to you, dearest Jetta - I just have a feeling this is going to work better than ever for you! And all those years on the job speak to a very loyal, hard-working employee; congratulations on that :) Somehow, I'm not surprised! You'll doubtlessly take advantage of your radically new schedule to retool your life and priorities, sort of "fine-tuning" it and making it even better! It's especially encouraging to hear that you'll have more time for taking care of yourself, too; nurses always need that! They're always extraordinarily generous people. So glad to hear you can still teach your classes as well, as you're a natural teacher. Sounds like you thoroughly investigated this change on mental and spiritual levels; it should work out beautifully! emoticon

good luck on this new venture... I hope they offer the job to you. You must have a lot of determination to stay in a position you found so stressful.... trading a few hours and hopefully less stress might give you more healthy years to enjoy. from personal experience, it really is easier to lose weight when the stress level is down.

    keep the faith.
