"Spend a few minutes writing about the reasons behind your fitness and weight-loss goals. What is your true motivation? What do you hope to achieve or experience after reaching your goal?"
The above is the question on sparkcoach's community task today and I wish to be a diligent student, so I am answering as much as I can.
One major reason I had for this weight-loss journey is to stay healthy and to be healthy and to be healthy alone. My weight had added over the years but not without consequences. So many things went gaga with my health which in turn started affecting my mind.
Another reason is the fact that I wish to stay around for long to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I want to be useful for God's work for long, I see my body as a casing where God dwells and wish to use to do His work on earth. If I misuse this body and allow it to be weak when its supposed to be strong, God will not be happy with me and He might decide to give that assignment to someone else, I will not be happy with that. I want to grow old and fit and still be sound and healthy to carry out God's purpose for my life.
My motivation right now is the fact that my health had greatly improved and I am better for it on a daily basis. I find great joy in fusing fitness into my daily routine, eating veggies, taking more fruits, reducing my portions, reducing processed foods, see my fitness minutes add up daily on SP and so on. I have not run any test for sometime now but I know when I do the results will be fantastic and I will be boasting of a clean bill of health from my doctors. In addition, I seems to have a greater confidence and I am always proud of myself now, all these motivates me to do more and keep on pushing.
I can only imagine what happens when I get to my goal weight, I will definitely be ecstatic and believe more in myself, knowing I can do whatever I set my mind to do. I am sure to also set new goals for myself one of which will be to maintain my goal weight for at least the number months it took me to get there (that's funny to me).
See you on the other side sparkies. If I may ask, why are you on the fitness/weight-loss journey.
