mom of 3 living in greece

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

well i'm a mom of 3...
2teenaged boys (18 & 19 )
and a almost 7 year old girl....
times in greece are hard.hool each morning and lunch time
looking for work which i can't find, or it is too too far away to afford to work...
can't pay major money on fuel and make 500 a month for working...
the ammount that would be brought back home would be 100 euros to 200 euros a month...
so i'm still looking...
driving to school each morning and lunch time...
i love coupons,,,,
try to use them as much as posible...
last december i over did it ,,, but it saved me major money...
i had found a few 1.50 euros off shampoo and i asked around friends that had coupons and were not using them ....
i got coupons,,, more than i can handle...
got a folder and some card holder and i started couponing...
slowly at first,,, trying to learn the ropes...
and then one day while i had droven my daughter to her english class,
it was cold so i decided to go to the supermarket...
and to my surprise i bought 40 bottles of shampoos and a few conditioners
for only 1.10 euros a bottle ...
regular price 4-5 ...
got a lot left too...
gave to my mother in law a few...
she said she wanted to pay me the price i payed , told her and instead of paying 6 bottles at 6.60 she gave me 20.
she said she saved 10 euros and that's enough for her...
gave my mom 2 too...
since then when i drive to hell to take my daughter to english class once a week ,,, i go with my folder to the market and search for specials that i have coupons for....
one hour once a week....
and one time a week i go with a list to do my shopping as i'm running morning errands...
but for shampoo , conditioners, hair dye, detergent , soap for dishes, body washes, and a few more things ,,, i buy large ammonts when on special with coupons.....
we are a big family and use it fast

Kalimera! I have no idea how difficult it is in Greece, I can only imagine it is hard. I hope you can keep posting and writing about how different life is to mine in southern Oregon. We have a high unemployment, but gas is still less than $4 US a gallon right now. If it is night when you read this, kali nichta~if I spelled that wrong, signomi. My Elinika is very poor. I can only say a few words and then I am stuck. Have a good week!
