Off The Rails

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

So, I have been MIA for a while. I posted a blog on Labor Day, kept tracking until breakfast, and then just totally lost it.

I am 42, I have two grown sons, and I REALLY have no desire to have another child. When TOM did not go the way it should, I panicked big time. I thought I was having stress headaches that would not go away because I was so worried. I ended up calling in sick to work that weekend. TOM finally came, and the headaches eased off. Then my jaw stared to ache. Turns out the the headaches were not just stress. One of the wisdom teeth I still have was becoming infected. I was looking a a trip to the Oral Surgeon. I got the tooth removed, and lived on soup, jello, pudding, and painkillers for about a week and a half.

By this past Friday, I was finally starting to feel better. I wasn't popping a pill every three hours, I was eating regular food, and I felt ready to get back on my bike. I worked my full schedule that weekend and got back on my bike Sunday. I can tell I haven't ridden for a while.

I need to figure out healthy ways to deal with the unexpected. I tend to freak out and go off the rails.

I hope everyone out there is having a better month.

Glad you are better! Welcome back.
Take it wasy and be easy on yourself. We all get thrown off now and again. But I do hear you that we can all find better ways to deal with unexpected stress. emoticon

Oh no! That will really throw you off! Glad to hear your feeling better!

Its amazing how quickly we feel it when we take a few days (or a week) off, for whatever reason.

Unexpected things will happen - and yea, finding the best way emotionally (and thus physically) to deal with them is tough. Just another thing to work on!

I hope October treats you a lot better than September!
