I am the recipient of a new IPOD NANO.

Didn't cost me anything as I got it for giving lots of pints of blood, and the blood bank gifts us with points to "purchase" things, and they like my blood a lot as I am a universal donor!

Anyway.... This thing is literally 2 inches square... i spent most of the afternoon yesterday loading it with cd's. I already have 16....I repeat 16 CD'S on this thing and I've only taken up about have the memory!!!

Amazing!!! How amazing..... really!!! I am not so old, but I do remember the first TV's my grandparents had one, I grew up with black and white TV and remember the plastic thingy you put on the front for color! (they were all westerns, so you had blue sky, pinkish for flesh and green for grass....really!!)

Now I can pick up my 26 inch flat screen with one hand! What new wonders will my children remember as old fashioned?

I remember my grandparents telling me one day there will be a man on the moon....we have done that, what will be next? I never thought I'd think my cell phone was so important that I would turn around and go home for it when I forgot it! LOL

Enough of my ruminating ..... have a great day Sparkers!

LOL! Isn't it amazing? My iPod Touch is my LIFE! I have a 2 full seasons of TV shows on there and about 60 apps. I have a couple of CDs, but music is not my 'thing'. My newest obsession is phones. I always want the newest ad best. LOL!

I was tickled when I was able to stop using giant floppy disks for my computer. I never thought I'd ever be able to fill a megabyte of space. And now I'm typing this on a 7" tablet with no keyboard while riding in the car. But you know, I still miss some outdated tech, like my dad's old TV in its big carved-wood case. Some things were just prettier then.

My kids don't understand that when I was a kid, 12 siblings, one phone and it was a party line ... whatever *that* is. Three channels and only one tuner on the TV for channels 2-13 and the TV was had a black and white picture , which was ok since almost all programs were broadcast in black and white.

We will likely go back to the moon, but I don't think we will ever see a Manned Mission to Mars unless there is some major breakthrough on bone loss and muscle atrophy ... something NASA doesn't talk about enough. Radiation presents another issue as Mars doesn't have the atmosphere that Earth has.

But that doesn't mean things stop here on Earth. Jsut look at your smart phone. They are saying that dedicated cameras will be unnecessary in the near future.
