First week almost over

Thursday, October 18, 2012

This was my first week back to work after maternity leave. I knew it would be challenging but I think so far I have done well with it. Monday morning was difficult, when my husband left to take my son to my in-laws I cried. I'm blessed that he doesn't have to go to daycare and they are willing to watch him, but it's still not me taking care of him. I work with one of my best friends and she had my desk decorated and several people brought food and snacks. Overall it was a really good day. I was even proud of myself after work I went jogging before running home to see my son. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, but I have been a whole day without him before. Yesterday was harder than Monday, but I think it's because I haven't been this many days in a row without him. I know I will get used to it. I haven't been able to exercise as much this week. While I was on maternity leave I was able to do my ST videos while he napped and then I would go jogging when my husband got home from work. I'm still working on that routine, I haven't done any ST at all this week. My son was waking up around 4:30 to be fed and my plan was to feed him and then once he went back to sleep I would just stay up and do my ST exercises, but I think he's trying to adjust to everything as well because he has not been sleeping very good. I know once we get into the routine of things it will all iron out and run smoothly again. But I'm really excited this week is almost over. I can't wait for the weekend so I can spend as much time as possible with him.
