Reasons for weight loss

Sometimes we look at weight loss as losing to look better in our clothes, or losing for a special occasion. My reasons for wanting to lose are for health. My father was a few weeks shy of 99 when he died. His dad was 92. My mom is still living and active at 85. I want to be healthy and able to remain active for the rest of the time I have. I am now 67 and know that if I intend to be healthy for my later years, I must start now and continue for the rest of my life. I want to be around to enjoy my five grandchildren, to be able to go places and do things with them. High blood pressure runs in my mom's family, and I am now on medication. I am hoping to bring that more in control by adding healthier eating and exercise. emoticon

    I want to be healthy too! With the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's, American Diabetes Association and American Heart Society saying eating right and exercising is the best preventative action you can take it is hard to ignore the importance. I want to be around a long time to spend time with my grandkids and kids. My family doesn't have long lives and a lot of it is lifestyle. My parents both died of cancer and my sister died of a heart attack at age 60! Thanks for your blog, it helped remind me of my priorities!
