Thoughts of an old mountain man reflecting on the recent U.S. election, while studying the prophecy of Isaiah (Larry S. Kendrick, 11 09 2012)


The Lord must be sad with our choices, our thinking and our ways,
For He once destroyed lost Sodom & Gomorrah for similar strays

The Caananites once killed their children in their day and in their way,
Like we now eliminate fetuses as we choose to go our own way

The right has made odd choices, while the left chose cunning and lies
So it’s time to awake & turn around, & start trusting in God on high

He alone can see the big picture, and the future with all it holds
He alone sees over the horizon and the threats we soon will face

Man thinks he knows what’s happening, but his vision is way too small
Man chooses whom he’ll follow, but God will cause him to fall

We pay lip service to our alliance with Israel our surest ally
But let them defend their own people, and we throw them under the bus

Our unwarranted smugness & sneers tell all our hearts do feel
But the threat from cocky Iran could change visages far and near

So relish your well won victory, the pride and the well earned pats,
But know that more than one cliff awaits our self-centered brats

Our media think they know it all, but God has the final say,
And just cause they have the microphone doesn’t mean they’ll not lead us astray

There are forces at work we don’t see; there are people behind the scenes
Who think they can control all, but it’s God who affects the final scenes
