New Year Eve is a time for reflection on the passing year and looking forward to the new year. I generally don't make resolutions per se as I don't keep them.
I set a goal on January 1, 2012 to lose 75 pounds total and be at 200 pounds by December 31, 2012. Unless a miracle occurs I won't be at 200 by the end of today. But you know what? That's okay. December has been a challenging month this year for some reason and I know I over indulged. There are consequences for that over indulges. That being two extra pounds since December 1st (another goal I didn't make, oh well).
Please understand I'm not discounting the process of goal setting. I'm just not going to get all bent out of shape because I didn't make them. I will set new goals for 2013, get back on track and continue my journey.
The most important lessons I have learned this time around is 1) this is a lifetime journey, not a quick fix and 2) I won't deny myself any foods. I will try to use moderation and get right back to healthy eating if I over indulge.
