A look back at my Spark Blogs...

It is so weird to think that my weight-loss battle has been written in bits and pieces since February 16, 2007. That was my first blog post here at SparkPeople... At that time, I had moved over from a paid sight (The Biggest Loser Club) where I had been a member in 2006 & I convinced friends that I had made there to come here with me. We formed a group here and successfully kept up the BLC plan and challenges for free! It was a great group of ladies and the challenges were working. Unfortunately, it got dull and routine so it ended up more of a chat room than anything.

As I look back on my posts, I see a looooong pattern of planning & setting up tools. I joined Spark groups, I followed other bloggers, I did Turbo Jam, Kick & Fire, I followed the Chalene Johnson cronies, I did Isagenix protein shakes, I tried the Fat Belly Diet... Out of all the groups I was in and diets I tried, the only thing that really made an impact was the BECK program. This was my first entry through the workbook: www.sparkpeople.com/mypa

and I can see clearly that it was making a huge impact on me. I followed along everyday & I really understood the psychology of the book.

The other thing that worked for me was Isagenix. I lost 30 lbs. using the shake & cleanse system, and I had never felt so good. I remember weighing in on my wii fit & COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES that I was down so far. It gave me hope that I could actually reach my healthy BMI goal.

Alas, for some reason, I stopped everything. I stopped working out all together this year and now I am 26 lbs. over the weight I was when I started this whole journey 7 years ago!!! WHY? I just don't understand my reasoning. I had a lot of stress, and that makes me do stupid things I guess...

So I copied & pasted different motivating phrases, tools, goals, facts, etc. from all of these blogs & I pasted them randomly to a word document. I'm going to try to make some sense of it and put together something that I can look at everyday and motivate myself. Let's see how that works...

    I want to do it again, but the cleanse is pretty intense. It is hard if you have long working hours like me & I have to do a lot of lunch meetings. It's only 5 days of the juice in-between the shake & regular meals, but it's just one of those things you have to plan for. I also noticed that if you do not do strength training during the 9 day process & then go back to your old habits, you pick up extra flab from the loss. There's good points & bad points to it, but it does work!

    Why don't you try Isogenix again? Just wondering.
    30 pounds is great! Maybe I should try that. i have heard of it.

    Thank you Bravelute - I think the reason was that I was overwhelmed with my life at that time. I was going through unemployment, a big move, and an ailing father. Now, I am gainfully employed, just bought a home & my father has peacefully passed away. I don't feel the pressures that I had then, so I can finally breathe again. I have Dr. Fuhrman's book & I love it. It's just a little too much for me right now. But, yes - I need to get back on those 2 programs right away :)

    You just stopped. I don't know the answer. I'd love to communicate and let you bounce things off to try to figure it out. You are welcome to exchange ideas on sparkmail.

    Sounds like you know 2 beneficial things; the Beck program and Isogenix?? I'm not familiar with either. Why analyze further unless you thought either was becoming unhealthy in some way? Can you get back on those 2 programs that were beneficial?

    Or fullplatediet.org They make their e-book available for free and can be downloaded, and used with any other eating plan where you're eating real food, as opposed to manufactured shakes.
