Celebrate Success!!

Instead of focusing on the negative, it is necessary to celebrate success.
I will celebrate that at a month and a half into the year, I have been consistently coming to sparkpeople almost daily to track food and fitness. I am averaging 1600 calories a day. I have been eating healthier and feel healthier. I have completed 35 days of my P90X schedule and lost 7 lbs. and 6 inches. I feel stronger too. That is a lot to celebrate!

I also celebrate that I am a child of God. I am made in His image. I have not made healthy decisions and my body is not where it should be; however, I am reading Bod4God and making small changes (and sometimes big ones) to live a healthier life that honors Him! He is showing me things I need to learn through this book and a website called I love the training prayer that I read on someone's sparkpage on here and then found it on This is the prayer:

Lord, please bless my workout. As I train my arms, let it remind me that I’m held tightly in Yours. As I work my legs, let it be only to follow you more closely. When I work my chest, may it be safely under a breastplate of righteousness. And when I hit my back, I’ll recall that I’ll never be attacked by surprise. And finally Lord, allow my beating heart to grow stronger, knowing that’s exactly where You live. Yes Lord, please bless my workout. I’m a temple, here to worship. Amen.

–Jimmy Peña

The motto on prayfit is: In Jesus' name, we train.

I have made that my motto too. When faced with cookies at an event I quote that to myself. When I went to my son's Valentine Party at his preschool, this quote is what I said to remember that I do not need ice cream or cookies. I am training for Him. To bring glory and honor to Him. That is why I workout and desire to live healthier.
