Putting "more of me" into this...

So far, being on Spark isn't really helping. I signed up 6 months ago and haven't made progress. I have met some very nice people so I would never say I regretted doing it.

And I have made temporary progress here and there. But I always go back to my old habits and regain whatever weight I lost.

I think in order for this to really "work" I need to get involved more. I need to read more, blog, visit all the sections of the site, etc.

I guess in order to see "less of me" I need to put "more of me" into this Spark experience.

Sometimes I wonder what would REALLY motivate me to lose weight. Other than something like "winning a million dollars" the only thing that comes to mind would be finally meeting a nice man to share my life with. I wish I could see him now so I could at least have that to look forward too.

I will try to put more of myself into this experience, including writing blogs about whatever I'm feeling at the time. I'll probably bore everyone to death but I think there must be a reason to open up and share feelings. Maybe that's part of the process for losing weight.

    Really another thing that has been helping me in addition to the spark community is to not keep your journey private. I talk to others about my challenges. I think also coming to a point where this isn't a race. This is about making changes that you can keep in the long haul. I figure I will be working on having a healthy diet for the rest of my life. I am hoping that the weight loss is just a perk.

    You can do this, look for others in your life that can help and support you.

    I had a crying episode today for some reason. Just feeling really frustrated about things. But I got it all out of my system so I'm feeling hopeful again.

    I am excited about starting back on track. :)

    Definitely, increased involvement will help.

    For me, to get it to "work", was the moment I made the cost/benefit analysis and the "cost" of staying sedentary with the attendant bad health habits was preventing me from doing things and living the life I wanted to live.

    At that point, it was no longer worth the cost.

    When you learn what causes yo to slip, you can learn ways to counter act it in the future. Small steps. You can do it.

    I started slowly in July of 2007 and it tookme time to plug into the whole system that really works if you workit. Keep focused for success. You can do it. Go for it.

    Putting "more of you" into it will get you more knowledge and you will gain so much more. If you do revert to old habits you come back quicker...because you are more aware and you actually miss the site and the people.

    I know for a fact that it is alot of hard work, I was so motivated and got down to goal in about 10 months, but my problem was the maintenance part of it, and I am working hard on this so hope it comes off one more time. emoticon
