Q: Do you need some motivation or advice? Ask for it!
A: Rather than ask for advice, I'm going to share. I've had an unusual source of motivation this week.
A few days ago I learned that a dear friend of mine just died, very unexpectedly. Since then, I've been looking at life and seeing all the things she is missing, including the opportunity to just feel alive in her own skin.
Last night I was grieving and decided the best thing I could do would be to go to the gym. As I worked hard on the crossramp, I thought about her and I was angry that she's gone and I took it out on that machine. I worked hard! And you know what? I'm so glad I went. Because my friends, we are still here, on this earth. We are alive! We all have the opportunity to make healthy choices and take care of ourselves and love those around us.
I know it sounds cliche, but I keep thinking that I don't want to let my life pass me by. I'm going to keep trying to be the best me I can be. There are always going to be setbacks, but overall, I'm happy to be on this road to better health. I hope to say goodbye to these 15 to 20 pounds forever.
I hope you're all having a good week and finding things about life to celebrate. Even the small accomplishments are worth being pleased about!
