4/1/13

How did so many days pass by? Goodness .... and I remained on the up/down/up/down slope ever since 1/1/13 (well actually, 6/1/12).

So now I'm guarding my heart (and mouth) and confronting my REAL problem which is Addiction (or as God calls it Gluttony). Dr. Peake has given me some real life "practices" to think about and institute. (but I use only God's Word for meditation not TM). I'm identifying False Fixes and calling them what they are: "a lie." I'm tracking my "goals" to get some new streaks. I'm enjoying seeing the number of steps up on the fitbit.

And despite the fact that the scale really hasn't budged, I have to remember that obedience in the little things will bring results in the numbers! And I must keep trudging on....

Confronted yesterday with unlimited beef (one of my favorite things is protein/meat) I succumbed to "overeating" but interestingly enough, I cooked the beef on my GF grill and it was AMAZING the amount of fat that skimmed off. There really couldn't have been much fat left in the hamburgers. I saved the "juice" in a bowl, refrigerated it and half of the "run off" was beef broth and half hardened as fat. Threw away the fat and froze the broth for later use.... Love my GF grill ..... Made me smile...

Lois, you have a great attitude and you seem to be doing or trying to do all the right things. You will be rewarded. All at once, that scale is going to drop and you will be so happy, and I will be happy for you also! I will probably have to buy the book too. You're making Dr. Peake a millionaire! lol xo Noel

emoticon I'm so glad you're learning a lot about yourself while reading the "Hunger Fix". I am going to order it soon as Dr. Peake sounds very insightful and knowledgeable about the whys and hows of people who eat for comfort or to de-stress, etc. It sounds like progress to me, good for you. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

As I mentioned before, I'm still reading and studying, but definitely working through the same things you mention here. I also am using prayer as my meditation, but I've been thinking about adding in some other forms, as well. Since I'm not finished with the book, I hesitate to say for sure, but I think this sounds like such a common sense thing that I wonder how/why I've missed it in the past!

You are not alone, Lois...definitely trudging on here, too!!!
