Breathe Deep or Snort if you will...

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

So today I did one of my least favorite things. Actually, it was one of my least favorite things at its worst level. I hate going to the dentist. Hate It. Today, was endodontist for root canal. This time, I went ahead and got the nitrous since I tend to get nervous but work through it but with everthing else that is going on...I said what the heck. Last free ride on someone else's dental anyway right?

What a difference that makes. Just wow.

The thing is ... the way that made me feel, calmer, a little loose, and not fearful is what the turn to faith and reasserting my healthier habits has done. Now mind you, in and of themselves, they were not enough not to make me freak about the endodontist, but overall, through all of this...yeah. Calm and sometimes...slightly amused.

When I get tickled at something...really amused...I will snort. Now this can be a full on-cannot catch my breath laughing snort (it is still girlish and ladylike, I swear.) Or this can be a sarcastic snort, believe me, if you heard them you'd know the sarcastic one. ;)

I have snorted more in the last month than I have in a year at the most exasperating of circumstances for most people. When you have your roots in faith and you have your priorities in line, everything else just smooths out...like life on nitrous. LOL!

I know, most of you are thinking she was probably prescribed something and is under the influence.

Well, yes I was. But no, I have not taken it. So there!

It's just today...of all days...I am grateful that I have these priorites in line and that in doing so I can laugh through the ridiculousness of all of it. Seriously...I have had to proofread my divorce agreement three times....THREE...remember how much you pay a lawyer folks and then wonder why in the world they do not have spellcheck or a simple human brain that looks over it before they mail it back to you. My last one had me married on the date of May 1976. I was five then...five. They have my birthdate on the document and right below that...five years later...I got married. Listen closely y'all...

*snort*

See? Smoothed out...LOL!

I am headed outside into the blessed sunshine and with the advice of one of my good fellow sparkies, I am taking a BIG glass of iced tea with me.

Have a happy healthy day! Smile at someone you don't know...they'll either smile back or think you're crazy...bonus!

You make me smile. I love nitrous... LOOOOOOOVE.. too bad its not cheap... or available for in home use only because I would totally indulge on a bad day. Nothing better than the "I don't give a..." feeling with the giggles. I stuggle with anxiety also... and dislike the dentist also even though mine is a great guy. The cleaning part is the worst, specifically the floride treatment- what ever happened to those yummy trays when I was a kid?!? I want those back, not the grinder.

They don't use the spell check or proofread because it means more $$ for them later on to correct the mistakes...billed by the 15 minute increments.

I am glad you have found your faith again to help you through this time.
