It's Been One Wild Week
Sunday, May 19, 2013
Lots of things happening this week and it feels like a literal whirlwind. From car shopping to house selling to house clearing (People really should do a purge for charity every 3 years or so.)
Mom's house should be sold. I say "should" because she was out of the continental US in Hawaii at the time. I was her voice in the deal and that was nerve wracking trying to track her down in the islands to haggle over price or fixtures. But it is worked out and what is left should be signatures.
THAT means we have to shake some tail to get things cleared out of two homes and my sister's stuff situated nearly 70 miles away. (Her stuff from her divorce / moving was in mom's garage.)
I am making a point though that my "fitness" will not be left out. I know that moving can be calorie burning in and of itself, but I want to be sure I stay on track with a scheduled set of workouts even if they are only 15 to 20 minutes. When things get hectic is when I usually start on the downward spiral and give up. I am not going to do that this time and you guys are going to nag me if I don't show up...right? :D
In all of that, I really REALLY need to finalize something on a car for myself. So confusing. There is so much out there and my needs are kind of getting in the way of my wants. My need is for space to haul swim gear for another five years. You'd think that wouldn't be much...jump in and swim right? No. The meets are usually outside in the summer and hotter than Hades. That means it is basically camping alongside a public pool for two full days of swimming (Chairs, tent, ice chest, small duffel of luggage). These meets are at the four corners of the state I am in and sometimes further, so I need pretty decent gas mileage. If it were just me, I'd jump in a used Altima and be quite happy, but that thing won't fit the baggage. *sigh* And the only thing my son has asked for is AC in the back of anything, which of COURSE is the one feature that tends to only come at the higher end of any model.
*SIGH* I hate shopping for anything really and cars are just such a BIG thing to shop for.
LOVE the test drives though. Wouldn't it be cool if you could just have a car fleet that you could join? With a standard car to drive most of the time and then when you needed something bigger, cushier, more economical...you could just switch for a bit? So awesome. Someone needs to work on that, kay? LOL! (And no, I can't afford to rent something every time as the meets are quite often. Pooh on a serious swimmer schedule.)
Anyway, I have to get moving. The house is as hot a mess as I was after my walk and I have to pick my island hoppin momma up at the airport later.
