Elliptical and Treadmill

After my 5k race victory this weekend I decided to get back to the gym a little bit.

I did 60 minutes of cardio. 2 min run/walk intervals on the treadmill for 30 and 30 minutes on the elliptical.

I prefer cardio. I know I am supposed to be doing weight training but I don't want to. Telling myself I have to just makes me skip the gym all together so I decided that something is better than nothing.

What do you think? Am I doing myself a disservice?

    It depends... are you simply looking to lose weight? Or would you like to tone up and have some strength? In my opinion, muscle mass is NEVER a bad thing to have! (Muscles keep you healthy and able and keep you from getting injured if you ever fall or have an accident!)

    Even if you start strength training with body weight exercises ONLY (push-ups, situps, squats, calf raises off a stair)... doing SOME strength training is definitely more benefitial then doing NONE at all! (Start small: try for 15 minutes... take 3 exercises, do 15 reps each X 3 sets.... your body will thank you :)
