Kicking myself

Thursday, July 18, 2013

I made soooo many bad choices today.... cream and sugar in the coffee... 1/2 a churro.... an ice cream cone.... peanut butter and jelly breakfast... chips... you'd think I knew nothing of nutrition or math at all emoticon

But, because the butt does indeed stop here... I did make a few good decisions also.... bike ride at lunch... baby carrots for snack... healthy socializing with friends... chicken taco with no cheese and lotsa veggies.

In the end, I will win this fight, but it's hard to believe I tipped the scales at 2,000+ calories today. I mean, really unbelievable! I'm so glad Spark makes it easy to count them up because left to my own devices, I would have thought this was a light day. emoticon I remember when I first came to Spark in 2008 and started tracking. I was eating mostly healthy food but my portions were so off the chain and my sense of calories so delusional, I was actually pounding down like 4,000 to 5,000 calories a day !

Well, as they say: Tomorrow is, in fact, another day.

We all have minor slip-ups with our eating, as long as you enjoy what you eat and don't feel guilty about it, there's no problem. I look at my overall calorie intake over the week and don't worry if I eat a little more on some days. I am in deficit by the end of most weeks. You know what, you are calorie cycling, high and low, emoticon , I do the same,

have a great weekend. emoticon emoticon

It happens to all of us!! Just remember every day is new and a gift. That's why they call it the present!

Wow that used to be a lot of calories! I was easily in the upper 2000's and sometimes 3000.

I really like the SP nutrition tracker too!

I had peanut butter and jelly today too! I made a sandwich for Max and he decided he did not want that. (I kept putting out different things until he ate something. Not a great approach for the long haul, but for three days, that made sense to me.) So of course, I ate half of his sandwich. (I just bit into the middles of the four quarters and left the crust.) And then I had some other stuff to finish out my lunch. I am so looking forward to eating "right" again!!!
