I Need Help....What Has Happened To Me?

I need help and control. I am not sure what has happened to me. I have gained 22 pounds in a year. I am so stressed what has happened to me? I am depressed and need help bad. I am so discouraged. I can't fit my clothes it's awful. I look a mess.

    It sounds like a trip to your general practitioner is in order. Get some blood work done to see if you have any concerns with your thyroid, cholesterol, etc... As we get older, the metabolism slows down so we have to create the right formula to keep it moving: exercise, at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night, food (plan that accommodates calories in/calories out), drinking water everyday, and most important just time.

    I will be honest and admit that my eating is not consistent over the summer with the kids home all day. I walk past the refrigerator too much and consume unnecessary calories. The fridge is stocked with good stuff, but I know I am eating more than I am burning....thus my extra pound or two weight gain. I used to get stressed out over the weight gain, but being here on Spark as helped me to get back on track faster than I would have a few years ago.

    You can do this. With a plan, you will be making small NSV (non scale victories) as well as seeing that scale go down soon.

    This is what has happened to all of us! You are in the right place! Stop being depressed and start doing something about it...make small changes and you will see big results!

    I'm sorry you're feeling so stressed, but I can definately relate. What helped me was I did several things. 1. Go to the doctor to get a full checkup, bloodwork included. I found out that I had underlying health issues that was causing my depression which was also stressing me out. 2. Take some "me time" to fully examine what is causing your stress. If it's too much to think about at one time, find something you enjoy doing and do it, if only for a short time. 3. If you need to, see a professional to talk to and they can help you sort out things.

    You just need to concentrate on yourself for the time being - start by trying to figure out why you are so stressed out. Did something happen in your life recently? Are you having problems at your job?

    Once you have figured out what is causing this stress - try to change it. Also - deep breathing really works well when you are stressed out - take in a deep, deep breath and let it out r-e-a-l-l-y slowly. Do that several times.

    My dear friend, I can relate! I lost my mother-in-law, father and mom, in less than a year and I have regained 21 lbs., due to stuffing my feelings down with food.

    Every day is a chance to do some improvements. I've read that you shouldn't create too many goals, take one at a time. I discovered a WWs PointsPlus app that I can use instead of rejoining WWs. If you are interested, I would be very happy to tell you which one.

    Right now my strong point is working out and walking, that is what I'm focusing on. I am also trying to substitute my snacks with fruit. I will not weigh myself for awhile, so that I can stay motivated. Good-luck! We can do this! emoticon

    Stress will help you gain weight, if you are feeling stressed a lot lately, you should find ways to de-stress. Are you active at all, eating the right things? Don't get so discouraged, you can lose the weight, starting now you will get there in no time, don't wait till you are like me and need to lose 90.

    don't know a thing about you, but gaining a kilo a month is no joke.
    when do women gain so much? a. after marriage b. after menopause and of course c. after eating too much. or combinations of the three.

    can anything be done? of course!

    a. three 400-calorie meals a day, 5 hrs apart, mostly veggies and low-fat
    b. drink lots of water, about 2 liters a day
    c. move! get your metabolism going. exercise, fresh air...

    bet you never heard this....?
