Frustration and learning patience

Thursday, August 15, 2013

Sigh. Weigh myself every morning but need to learn patience. I just got my treadcllimber a week ago today and am scheduled to do my fourth workout tonight since then. My weight has been up and down by one pound and it's up again. It's frustrating and challenging to stay on track when you don't see an immediate impact. It wouldn't be so bad if even I could count on one pound a week. I know I didn't gain it all in a week but I'd sure like to lose it all in a week! emoticon

Guess I'll just have to practice patience, maybe stop weighing myself daily (a bad habit I've gotten into) and pick a day and stick to weighing myself once a week. I'll have to be careful on Sunday with the family potluck bbq coming up at our place. Lots of good food but mostly healthy so shouldn't be too bad. In addition to the hot dogs and hamburgers and various mayo laden salads, we'll also have chicken, a green salad and watermelon and a fruit tray for dessert. I'll have to watch myself with the spinach dip and pumpernickel my sister in law is bringing but I'm already planning and plotting and trying to figure out how to stay motivated in the face of temptation.

Good luck to me and all of you too emoticon

The scale can drive you crazy. I can weigh in the morning then in the evening and I will be up 4lbs or down 2lbs.Then the next day something different it is crazy. A couple of things to remember if you weigh with clothes on subtract 1.75 from it . for men it is 2.00 I read that at my doctors office. and if you are exercising you are building muscle and it weighs more than fat so it is a healthy gain. Use measurement they tell the truth, that and they way clothe fit, Make the healthy choice at cook out. It is a battle with the scale and I am like you I like to see a lb. gone a week , but I am lucky to see it gone in a month. But I feel allot better, so use other things as success too not just pounds. Have a great week.

Sound like you have a good plan to avoid over eating at the family function. Just stick to your goals and maybe allow yourself a little of your sister-in-laws dip.
    Good Luck!!! emoticon
