Make a move, make a difference!

Sunday, August 25, 2013

Getting involved in the community, improving your health. Both have involved making a move for me and both have made a huge difference in my life.

I am now officially less than 1 pound away from making 30 pounds lost. I have worked hard and consistently to make this happen over time. This is the first time in a very long time that I have stuck with it, and it has worked. Funny that - I am pretty sure that's how successes are built. One foot after the other.

As far as the community goes, I have started putting my efforts where my mouth is. In my life I used to be a very involved person. I did what I could to make a difference and in many occasions helped to do just that or at least feel as if I did. That is one of the things that makes this country great - we CAN take part in action, and it is imperative that we do so. There are so many who complain so loud you can hear them on the other side of town, but then go out and do nothing.

It's the same with weight loss. Talking, complaining and depressing about it does absolutely nothing to change it. Put on big girl/big boy pants and stepping out - now that is what makes a difference.

When you see the changes having an effect, there is nothing that makes you stand taller and more confident.
