I will be 34 in less than 2 weeks. When I was younger like 28 I was so much more athletic and healthy. I have to remind myself that my 33rd year has been spend battling a kidney disease. What does that mean for my future of working out and hitting my weight loss goal?
I don't know yet. What I do know is I am mentally ready and ready for my physical to catch up to my mind. With a kidney disease I have to now take into account my level of hydration because I cant go walk 3 miles and hydrate at the same time when I need to use the bathroom pretty much every hour it seems like. My right leg is still quite swollen from edema but I can actually put my running shoes on, of course a little tight on the right but some months ago It wouldn't even go on! So yea I have something to prove, I will not be defeated by the fears of the unknown, I chose life and I chose to live it the best way I can and that starts by making myself a priority. I definitely got off course with that and I know that didn't help me when my body finally said ENOUGH!
In a matter of about 5 weeks I gained 60lbs of fluid. After intense doses of Lasix some of the water weight is off but not completely and Im sure due to my inactivity for over a year some of it has converted to dry weight. I am not pressed about it. God willing by my 35th birthday-9/10/2014 I will be 100lbs lighter.
