Food and iron challenges

Food is challenging... eating the right kinds of food not so much but trying to get enough iron in my day is difficult. For whatever reason, I just can't seem to get enough iron in my diet...

I've looked at iron rich foods but even adding spinach and strawberries while great, doesn't give me enough. I'm not keen on red meat and eat very little of it...

does anyone have any suggestions?

    We don't eat a lot of red meat either, and Mum has trouble absorbing iron, so she has to take iron tablets... Mushrooms do have some iron, as well as leafy green vegetables, but I believe you would need to eat a lot of them.

    Maybe check with your doctor, and maybe look into adding a supplement too.

    I have a tablespoon of organic blackstrap molasses everyday. I don't quite have to hold my nose - and I figure it has iron and calcium, potassium and magnesium among other things.

    I work it into my tracker.

    I have to take iron pills because I was deficient.
    It would be hard to get a lot of iron without red meat.
