Not starting off well

Woke up with a horrible migraine .. makes it more difficult to concentrate on tracking food and exercise. Humidity is not my friend. The humidity causes migraine and makes my angina worse. Any suggestions? I take my medication but sometimes it just does not help. Neither does all the stress my spouse causes me. UGH! emoticon

    I've read that having a small hole in your heart can cause blood to leak and you can have migraines. I see you have heart problems so I'm wondering if there is a connection. Yoga can help with relaxing. emoticon

    You may find talking about the headaches. with your Dr could be very helpful. Also, have you talked with him/her about your relationship? A lot of people are rather loathe to do this, but in my experience, it is far better to let your Dr know just what is going on in your life, so that he/she can treat you more appropriately.

    I would suggest that when you are able, make the best choices that you can, and pay attention to portion sizes. The the palm of your hand or your fist for a rough guide. Some people find it very helpful to downsize their dinner plate and make sure that 1/4 is lean protein, 1/4 carbs (Brown Rice, Potato, Pasta etc.) and the rest a rainbow of colour of vegetables.

    You might also find it very beneficial to have some input from a Registered Dietitian and your Dr will be able to refer you to one if you haven't already been to one.
