back home

Thursday, September 12, 2013

actually I returned yesterday evening but I was in no shape to do anything but give directions for creating a cozy nest and crash inside it ( very light floating crash :D). I wasn't feeling great yesterday but today is much better, I can turn on both sides in bed , can go to the bathroom( you never appreciate enough being able to wipe your own you know what emoticon ), the little cough and mild fever I had yesterday disappeared , I finally slept (I couldn't sleep much in the hospital no matter what they tried to give me emoticon ) and generally feel more and more strength and less pain every hour. the not so great thing is that I'm super hungry (might be the healing process?)I didn't eat that much cause I don't have anything dangerous in the house and I definitely don't want to gain any weight. also I'm not allowed to lift more than one kilo , bend , exercise and make effort for at least 6 months emoticon . I'll stick to walking when I'll be able and allowed to do it and have to be extra careful with eating. I didn't weigh-in yet but I'll do it tomorrow morning cause an important part of healing properly is not gaining weight. the pain is pretty big but I hope it will not last long .the good part is that I'll have a month of paid medical leave emoticon . I will sleep , read , visit friends , meditate and do a ton of me things that I never have time for , at least this is the plan now.
thanks to all my sparkfriends who were sending me goodies and kind comments, I'm very grateful for all you did emoticon emoticon

    Hi Kori,

I read your last three blogs. I can relate to having and infection with the stones. I experienced that is 2009 and never want to relive it again.

Glad you are home and recovering. It is so nice that you can take it easy for month before returning to work.

There are a lot of chair exercises you can do that really work out your body. Lynn is posting them in our SABF challenge. I'm doing them as I just recently had double knee surgery done to repair some damage in the cartilage. I can also walk the treadmill but for very short periods of time before it starts to bother my knees. It is so hard when you want to be more active and physical limitations set you back. It will be nice for both of us to be fully recovered to the point that we can go back to the activity we enjoy most. emoticon emoticon

Hospitals are never a great place to recover unless maybe you're in a coma. I could never sleep there either. Glad you're home and feeling better. Hope the pain disappears completely ASAP so you can enjoy the month of paid leave.

i love that you have a month off to recover, get back to yourself, enjoy hobbies & maybe discover new ones you've never had time for. time to socialize and just dedicate to getting closer and closer to 100% recovery. even just sitting home and vegetating (that would be me :P) i am so excited that you get to slow down & breathe, and i hope that after a cpl weeks it will be more like a vacation than recovery!! we're all cheering you on friend!!

Enjoy your paid leave and enjoy life. Good to hear you are feeling better and able to take care of yourself. A good incentive not to gain weight - you want to heal properly. I know you can do it.

Keep hydrated, enjoy some magazines and books, Spark a bit, get a little flowering plant to take care of and enjoy the month!

so glad you are ok! Hope your pain becomes less and less everyday and you are very productive in your recovery time! Don't be too hard on yourself if you do gain weight. It is hard being immobile and therefore hard to know for sure what is going to cause the weight to come on!

I am glad you are back home. I hope the pain is more bearable today. I know all about that kind of pain. I have had a lot of surgeries in the past.
Just take it easy, get lots of rest and listen to your doctor.
Meditation is good for healing and if you can do it, for the pain, Be safe. Namaste, Pam
