Feeling water logged!

Sunday, September 15, 2013

It's been a while since I've blogged or have done anything, struggling to get on track but still trying then it hit. Last weekend we were setting records with 96-98 degree days I think it was 7 in a row and then last Tuesday came around! We've had rain for the last 6 days which one is very unusual in our state, this is more like spring weather, 3 days into it we've had flooding everyday since, more so from the Boulder area up to Wyoming. Wednesday I was trying to come home from the north on one of our lonely roads and it was closed about 5 miles away and I had to figure something out to get home. Then the next day I was able to get through but that was before then system came through the next day. It's not like I'm in the mountains or in a decline of any where I'm located by the airport surrounded by a lot of farmers land and new communities going up. When I moved into the house I was in the insurance lady asked me if I lived in a flood plain. I just laughed and told her that if we ever flooded it was going to be because of a cruel act of mother nature, that there was no way we would ever flood! I think I may need to reconsider that thought..

Now I feel like I'm down in Texas! There used to be a place that we would go eat at in Corpus Christi and when I showed my husband these pictures he said the same thing. These pictures were of farmers land aprox. 4 miles away or so and the other side of the street that I was parked on looked the same way with water coming up to the street. It's been raining now for 4 hours and the heaviest rain the newscasters said is coming! They're saying by Tuesday the rain should stop and we should start heading into the upper 70's lower 80's and and start drying out. This would be a god send considering we're usually in the teens for humidity and we've been at 95% or higher since this has all started. Just hoping that it ends soon, we've had flooding in my area but not as bad as most!

Sending out good vibes for all!

Kelly

Hope that you/your area is safe. My brother use to work in Longmont a year in a half ago . Then got work in Fort Collins and just bought a house there two weeks ago. He's moving away from me in Penna. to Colorado. So glad he isn't in the flood area.

Been watching the world news and this flooding is so bad! All I can ask is what is Mother Nature thinking????

    Keep safe!

It seems there are danger just about everywhere.

We always worry about lightening. We are in a hilly neighborhood that is surrounded by a mostly flat area. Every year the roof of a nearby house seems to get hit by lightening and catch fire. The homes are grounded but it doesn't seem to matter.
