Happy to be overweight!

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

According to the BMI calculation on sparkpeople I am now overweight, but no longer obese. This was exciting to me! I realize it is not really an accurate way to measure my progress and based on just some crazy numbers, but it was still exciting. Happy to be down into the overweight range. Really I was excited to finally break a plateau and get below 170 lbs. this week. I feel like I have been stuck most of the month at 172-173. I have officially lost 44 lbs. this year. So these numbers also are satisfying, but I realize again they are just numbers. The real satisfaction is that all my clothes are huge on me, and I really need new ones pretty badly. I have lots more energy this year than I used to. I can tell there are muscles in my arms, although still that flab in the arms too (I need to work more on arms). I can feel my hip bones now. I am overall more tone than I used to be. And I AM TOTALLY ADDICTED TO EXERCISE!!!!! If I go too many days without a workout, then I get really grumpy. I walk our dog an hour in the morning and often an hour at night, plus do a beachbody workout in the afternoon. Lovin' it!!

I am totally impressed with what you have lost and your attitude about it. I am in the same situation. I have lost 50 lbs in the past 2 years and 30 more to go. I am new to the Spark way of life and can't wait to exercise and look forward to the many recipes to look through. I find it hard to work the site, but am maneuvering it to the best of my ability. I am excited to be starting this way of life as I have tried many diets and got tired of them all. (lost weight on them though. I really hope that this is the last "diet" that I have to try.
